One of my absolute favorite things to do when I'm not shooting or editing is playing video games, or as Joe calls them, Vidya Games. He's not much of a gamer but I certainly am because I grew up playing them.
I started playing video games back when I was little. My Granny and me used to play a carnival game where we had to shoot things and I do believe that's where I get my competitiveness! Once I gained siblings, I used to sit and play Tomb Raider with my little Brothers for hours. They never could quite make Lara do what they wanted her to do so I'd play and they'd sit on either arm of the chair, glued to the screen. I used to let them tell me where to go next even though I knew, just so they'd have to use their own reasoning. It was a terrible idea to play the game in a dark basement though. Every time a yeti or a dog would jump out, we'd all scream because it would scare us half to death!
As for the games that I play now , I can't seem to play alone. I've tried...I hate it. I need the group mentality to play. I was blessed to find what I now consider my gaming family and we continue to stir up trouble in video games all the time. I don't know what I would do without them, it's like stress relief and therapy all at once!
We found each other playing DayZ standalone. Since then, we've played Arma 2, Arma 3, Ark, Rust, Team Fortress 2, and H1Z1 just to name a few. Yes, we've nerded out in some World of Warcraft and League of Legends but that's only when that's the only option available! hehe I'm not the greatest with close quarter combat, my team will gladly get a giggle as they tell you stories of how I fail at that. However, put a long range rifle in my hands and I become lethal in any of those games. Another thing I'm banned from is carrying explosives...of any kind....on any game. haha! One or two times you accidentally blow up a teammate and you just simply aren't allowed to have explosives anymore. Whoda thunk it?
We hope to continue on as a team and play the new game out this year; The Division. I've watched a friend play it and even though it isn't completed yet, it's still pretty intriguing so that may be our next favorite. The best part about that game? My Cousin, Josh, actually lent his voice to the promo video on steam for the game. You can see it here. Go Josh! Super proud =)
So, do you play any video games? I can imagine you have great stories like we do! I'd love to hear them.
Have a blessed day ^.^
